Happy New Year's Eve
Everyone's end is someone else's beginning... or something like that.
I think this has been the most tumoltuous year of my life. From the end of college and all that entails to moving out of my parents' house into an apartment to becoming financially independent to family stuff to owning my own car, everything about this past year has been about change. It seems as though every time I've blinked, something new has come up and there has been a new adjustment to make. Don't get me wrong, a lot of these changes have been really good for me, but dear Lord, I could use a little stability. For at least a week... maybe even two.
I think, though, my biggest problem this past year is that I've been so caught up in the future that is has been really hard to concentrate on enjoying the now. There have been so many changes that I seemed to be constantly trying to keep ahead of the curve and not truly relaxing and taking it all in.
However, I truthfully don't mind living in a whirlwind most of the time; it fits in with my whole ADD, not being able to concentrate on one thing for very long (and yes, I've finally admitted that I am actually ADD). I love being busy and having lots of fun activities (both including alcohol and not) to do and enjoy. Being busy, even if it is just watching a movie with a friend or catching a casual dinner with some people, makes me feel like I'm living life to its fullest, that I'm not wasting the time I was given on this Earth. But this year has gone by so fast that eventhough I've packed so much into this year, I'm still not quite satisfied...
So, I don't usually have a New Year's resolution, but I think this year mine is to try to enjoy every moment and to make sure that I'm ready and open for whatever gets thrown at me in 2007 because it's not like life is about to slow down.
Happy New Year, everyone! Here's to a fresh start to life. May 2007 bring you all happiness and joy.
Cheers.
